Very good food
DESCRIPTION: Food was as close to perfect as one could expect, service was the best. The serviceperson was there when needed, did not stand over us, and was very helpful, happy, and caring. Everything was clean, but a train station.

Lambertville Station Has Great Ambiance
DESCRIPTION: We love dining in converted train stations. This one is one of the best. It's beautifully restored and the food is as good as the atmosphere. The entrees are all American but with a bit of a twist which makes them all the more exceptional. Really loved the salmon and they provide this coconut bread that is just heavenly. (Trying to get the recipe!)

Best Location and Setting
DESCRIPTION: What we liked best about this place was its location -- right in the heart of Lambertville and at the foot of the bridge to New Hope, both great towns for shopping, antiques,etc. The restaurant is casual but has a nice elegant feel to it. The entrees we had were wonderfully prepared -- always nice when the food tastes as good as it looks.

Great Salmon Dish
DESCRIPTION: I've eaten at Lambertville Station before and always found it to be a solid restaurant that has a menu that appeals to anyone's taste, and always did a good job. It is also a favorite of both my family and my husband's family when they come to Lambertville to visit us. This evening we sat outside. Although it was August, we were a little chilly, which is unusual for this time of year. Other than that, it was lovely sitting next to the canal while dining. This was the first time I ordered the salmon and was extremely pleased. I enjoyed the salty, crunchy crust, which did not overwealm the fish. It was so good, I finished it, which is unusual for me. Other diners enjoyed their steaks with mushroom gravy on the side. Our youngest diner (15 year old) fully enjoyed his steak and ceasar salad, as well as speaking with our waiter about some of the rich the history of the area.

Mediocre Food and Service
DESCRIPTION: Maybe we were here on a bad night, but this restaurant is very mediocre which was disappointing because it has the appearance of being a great place. Our entrees were bland; you could get better at a chain like TGI Friday or Bennigan's. The service was slow. The wine list is limited and features mostly cheaper, California wines. Not exactly some place you want to go for a special night on the town.

Nightmare Birthday Celebration at Bogart's
DESCRIPTION: -Party of 11 people -One order was served incompletely; baked potato was forgetten and repeated requests were ignored -Another order was inaccurate; T-Bone steak was served instead of a Porterhouse -No offer was made by management to rectify the wrong order -Waitress was rude and surly -General Manager's appearance was slovenly -All and all a very unpleasant experience

DESCRIPTION: Recently, I visited this restaurant after one of my relatives chose to have a birthday dinner for a steak lover. She had good things to say about the restaurant. This being my first visit, I looked expectantly to food and service value. I didn't expect Morton's or Ruth Chris'. Although I overlooked missed placement of water, even after I had received my bar drinks, I became so thirsty I had to make a special request for water from the busboy. The disaster came when the bill was presented and I asked for a recalulation. The waitress said she was busy and it would take 20 or more minutes. I had noticed somewhere that lunch was 1-4pm but I was charged dinner prices. The 18% gratuity charge became 47% on the bill and NO recalculation was made. An unordered item was placed on the bill and no opportunity to make the correction was possible as our head waitress was BUSY. The steak that someone ordered was underdone even though she ordered medium done and that had to be taken back to the kitchen. The chicken pasta was oily tasting and not appetizing at all. We went early in the day so this was not a busy time for this business. I can only imagine what happens in their rush period.

The Restaurant
DESCRIPTION: On Oct. 7th, the last night of our honeymoon in Kauai, my husband and I went to Cafe Portofino with a reservation. The owner himself gave us the worst table (too much traffic) although there were many tables available. (By the way, I wore a dress and my husband was in short pants and polo shirt.) We got a nice table outside after requesting our waitress for another table. The dinner was good....until we found a piece of plastic wrap in his meal, egg plant parmigiana. The waitress was very sorry and reported it to the chef and the owner. Neither of them came to our table for an apology. Moreover, the restaurant charged us for a full dinner....without any discount for the meal contained a piece of plastic wrap. When we left the restaurant, we saw the owner having his own dinner and chatting his bartender. It is very clear that the owner does not care about the cust

Pity this is the only Italian restaurant in Lihue
DESCRIPTION: We've sampled most of the menu here. Most dishes here seem prepared too far ahead, are overpriced and lack real Italian flavor pizzaz. Salads are miniscule for the money. The basic wine list is super market stuff, but priced like boutique wines elsewhere on Kauai. There is also an over-expensive "private cellar" selection, but no middle ground. The wines served by the glass taste like box wine. Frequent staff changes result in poor service. Typical wait for a drink is twenty minutes. Food service is not much faster.

Good Meal Had by All
DESCRIPTION: After being asked our seating preference, we accepted a table on the outdoor patio overlooking the harbor shopping area. Our orders were promptly taken and our meals arrived after about 15 minutes. Each item was very well prepared. Desert was equally good and very ample (we were forced by full stomachs to stop before completing the deserts). All in all, I would strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone finding themselves in the Lihue area and in the mood for Italian.

DESCRIPTION: We just showed up for an early dinner in May of 2003, at Cafe Portofino because of many friends that had 'highly' recommended it. It was everything that they had 'raved' about and even more. Great 'house wine,' and our veal dinners - outstanding. Service with our waitress was great. This restaurant should not to be missed in Kauai - it's part of the romance of the Island.

The food is great, but your kids are not welcome!
DESCRIPTION: I have been a customer of Cafe Portofino for 11 years, and have always enjoyed the food and hospitality. Last week, my family and I were in Kauai, and I called to make reservations for 5 or 5:30....not exactly peak hours there. I told the person I would need to be seated somewhere such that my kids would not disturb anyone. (My kids are not complete monsters, but are typical two year olds.) I was told, "Maam, this is a fine dining restaurant." Clear implication.....we were not welcome there. I was livid, and walked over to the restaurant at 5:30 (the appointed time) and found it empty except for about 2 tables! I told Guiseppe (the owner) what had happened and mentioned how upsetting this was to me, as a long term and loyal customer. He said that he had 25 employees and could not control them. Huh? Last time I checked, he is the owner. In my mind, he totally failed to take ownership of the problem. I will never dine there again.

A Great Restaurant!
DESCRIPTION: First of all I have read the reviews at this site and what bothers me are the individuals that complain about the resturant but do not have the courage to give their name and instead sign it aonoymous... if you want to complain give a name! My wife and I vacation to Kauai almost every year for the past 18 years and have eaten at the Portofino many, many times and have always enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere, and will again when we are there for two weeks next week.

Great Random Find
DESCRIPTION: Driving west on I-80, I needed to stop for lunch, so I picked an exit and happened across this little gem. I found a friendly staff, and more importantly, good, cheap food. Fun little place. I'd recommend it to anyone.

DESCRIPTION: Good bar food (an excellent burger), and I think the latest open kitchen (except perhaps Triumph Brewery) within walking distance around Princeton. Open until midnight. It can get a little crowded and packed, so bring a friend and share a table if you're worried about looking like a lonely sad sack. The restaurant is much less interesting then the Pub Section, although it can be nice in the Summer (there's an open air bit.) Friendly waitstaff and fast service are a big plus; basically a nice place to catch up with an old friend.

Lovely ambiance
DESCRIPTION: We usually order from the "pub menu", but we have dined in the main dining room (formal), the terrace (informal), and the pub (dark and cozy). We find the food consistently delicious, eclectic and presented beautifully. The hamburgers are the best in the entire state of NJ! The service is courteous and friendly.

Not What I Expected!
DESCRIPTION: I had a venison dish when I went for my first dining experience at Magnolia Grill. The food was good, but too gourmet for me, and the four 1x3" thin pieces of venison that I got on my plate wasn't enough to feed an 8 year old child. I was very disappointed in the portion size of everything on my plate, as it looked empty upon presentation, and for the price it was downright highway robbery! The dessert was to die for, and was the highlight of my dinner. I was still hungry when I left, believe it or not, and never encountered that anywhere else I have eaten. The outside of the building looks like a dive, and was expecting to see a handsome exterior for such a well known restaurant... The inside was nothing to write home about either...White tableclothes, but otherwise quite rundown looking and baron. The service was good, and the waiter was accomodating...
