A FANTASTIC SURPRISE
DESCRIPTION: My boyfriend and I were staying at Turkey Run park one weekend in the winter, and headed into Rockville for some non-lodge food. We were almost resigned to bar food or pizza when we discovered the Baker's Table and adjacent wine shop. I'll never forget how delighted we were with the food, the service (a sommelier and chat with the chef and his wife),and the inexpensive but lovely wine. We're from Chicago but take every chance possible to get to Rockville, IN. . . this place is worth the drive!

FANTASTIC
DESCRIPTION: It is a unique mix of small town atmosphere and big city cuisine. We drive 45 minutes up from Terre Haute on a beautiful winding road to go to this wonderful restaurant. It is a hidden gem with food that rivals the best in any big city. When we first went our 8 year old wanted lots of mashed potatoes with a side of ketchup. We turned red. They laughed and brought him a plate. Yet, our food was extremely well presented and terrific. We take our most picky friends there because we know they'll be amazed at the dishes coming out of this kitchen in Rockville. You can't miss this experience

Nicely Done
DESCRIPTION: The ameities are lacking if you are looking for a romantic and/or more formal atmosphere. However, the food is excellent and obviously great care is taken to produce such cuisine. The waitstaff etc... couldn't be better. Definatley try it but, leave the tie at home.

DESCRIPTION: I had never heard of this place before eating there. When you walk in the smell of bread baking fills your senses and then the smell of marinara sauce makes you think mama is in the kitchen again. I loved it. I was there because of a business lunch meeting. If you want some great food but want to be casual, this is it. The restaurant was simply decorated and very clean and comfortable. There was a medium sized banquet room. I had the Muffalatta Salad which was full of salami, turkey, and olives and tomatoes. The gentleman next to me had the Citrus Hazelnut Salad with pan-seared salmon filet. It was a beautiful presentation and he said it was quite good. I also like the idea of salad and a dessert as a menu item. You can have a nice salad and still have room for the delicious dessert (it will be hard to choose after you see all the choices.)

DESCRIPTION: Chef Gary Hunter, trained at the Scottsdale Culinary Institute in Arizona, provides a pleasant dining experience of wonderfully prepared food and great service and desserts to die for in quaint little Rockville, Indiana. A "must go" when in area.

DESCRIPTION: I recently got a triple chocolate cheesecake that I swear weighed close to five pounds. It was rich and delicious. Although it was a little pricey, it was well worth the money. I think that next time I will get a slice or half a cake. Overall an excellent experience.

The Bread Basket -- A Slice of Life
DESCRIPTION: I first discovered The Bread Basket about 16 years ago, back when they were located on Calumet Avenue. Other than their relocation to Indianapolis Boulevard, few things have changed in those 16 years. On the menu, you will find sandwiches that are huge and tasty, salads that make you forget you're eating healthy and soups that are to die for. The atmosphere is quaint, with a vintage country appeal. Their main dining room fills quickly, but there is extra seating in their upstairs area. Don't forget to try a Berry Yogurt Shake and one of their homemade cinnamon rolls for dessert! Also try their fresh bakery goods, available for carry out.

DESCRIPTION: I work just up the street at a computer repair place and I frequent the Bread Basket at least twice a week. Always trust the locals - this place is excellent.

DESCRIPTION: This is a wonderful place for lunch. The entire staff is so friendly and professional. Everything is homemade and you can tell because you can smell the aroma when driving past Indianapolis Blvd. This place is busy you may have to wait a few minutes..but its very well worth it!!
