Service gone to hell at Logan's Roadhouse in Alpharetta
DESCRIPTION: The food at Logan's Roadhouse is good if you can get it served. The excuse tonight was a no-show by four waiters. So what do you do? Do you close some of the tables? No way! You fill up the place and proceed to ignore half the customers. And when they do take your order because the manager has come out of the kitchen, you can depend on the kitchen backing up. By the time the filet reaches the table, you're in such a state you wish you were anywhere else. The one thing you can depend on is a prompt check for the full amound. No amends. Just appologies and the hope you'll come again. Come again? Not for a long time. Other restaurants nearby may be more expensive but then, you get what you pay for.

Tries too hard to be upscale
DESCRIPTION: I visited the Horseradish Grill in October 2002. I ordered the $8 hamburger with potato salad. The rooms are large and open, though the back room is quite dark even at lunch. Its an odd assembly of appointments: nice tables with clothes, but topped with butcher paper. Some walls are adorned with nice and appropriate paintings, but the floors are stained concrete. A few booths are available; the chairs at tables are functional but not cushy by any means. What do I mean by my headline "tries too hard to be upscale?" Well, when the waitress asked if wanted catsup, rather than returning quickly with a bottle she returned about five minutes later with a small bowl of catsup and a saucer. Frankly, the bottle would have been much quicker and just as useful. I never once got a drink refill, nor was I even asked. I would rate the service below-average. Again, I've received much better service at much less pretentious restaurants. The burger was tasteful, but the potato salad was bland. It's worth a visit, but I wouldn't plan something nice there (like a date) without trying it yourself first.

Service an issue
DESCRIPTION: I work in the area and because restaurants are limited on this side of 400, I eat at Horseradish grill quite often. The food is ok, the service is not what I would expect from this type of restaurant. You basically have to ask for anything you need and then wait longer than you should have to for your request. Also, on takeout service...one time I ordered out and got an appetizer and a side, which ended up costing more than if I had gotten one of their lunch specials with one meat and 3 starches. I complained and the man at the bar said, "well, you should have figured it out," which I thought was rude. I have been in many other restaurants across the US, who usually recommend items and the best way to order.

Excellent meal overall
DESCRIPTION: We went to Horseradish Grill last night with our family of 11 and had the best meal in Atlanta that we have had in a long time. The service was excellent, food was fantastic and they made us feel so welcome. We were celebrating a special night for the children in our party and they went above and beyond the level of customer service expected to make them feel honored. If you live on the North side of Atlanta and are looking for a great restaurant in Alpharetta, you should definitely check it out. We will be going back soon for our anniversary.

Authentic Pit Barbecue
DESCRIPTION: This is the place that made it easier to leave Memphis. Corky's is a Memphis institution, and they've now branched out in several towns across the Southeast, including Duluth in metro Atlanta. All of the meats are smoked to a succulent and tender delight. And if you believe that after achieving a quality smoked meat, the thing that makes great barbecue is great sauce, Corky's won't disappoint. There standard sauce is an enticing blend of tomato sweet and smoky spice. Get a bottle to take home with you for your own creations. There are tasteful decorations on the walls recalling Memphis classics like the annual Blues Festival and of course, Elvis.
