Mexican cuisine that reigns supreme!
DESCRIPTION: What a surprise to find this cozy restaurant in Grand Lake! The tamales, posole, and mole dishes were delicious and unique. The bread pudding and chocolate cake were also expert creations. Of course we will go back! And we told all of our friends in CO who had never heard of this special place.

DESCRIPTION: Small, clean, friendly, cafe located across from Ray Motel. Oak parquet floors, hunter green tables and booths, and peach accents. Wildlife paintings and flower arrangements. Seats 52 diners, reservations recommended for parties over 8. Noon reservations recommended due to high volume. Lunch specials daily, Beef enchiladas every Wednesday with homemade fried bread and honey butter. Prices are very moderate to inexpensive. Breakfast special of one biscuit and gravy, egg, and link sausage with coffee for only $3.99.

Great food at a great price
DESCRIPTION: Our church group from Tupelo, Mississippi stopped at the Brown Burro Cafe on the way back from Keystone...all 50 or so people in our group were very pleased! Food was great.

Wake Up, Catch Trout, Eat Brown Burro Burrito
DESCRIPTION: After a morning on a gold medal trout river, there's nothing like a real, belly-bustin', taste filled breakfast burrito at the Brown Burro! Although the word has spread, it's still a great experience, with great food and an interesting (highly diverse) crowd at breakfast at the Brown Burro. We (family and friends) have made this morning routine a tradition that never fails to please. The food, people and ambience are great, down-to-earth and refreshingly nothing like the all-American yup-fest just over the pass in Breckenridge. I wish and hope this little pleasure stays secret enough to stay the way it is!

DESCRIPTION: I frequent Fairplay often and the best place to have a good meal is Brown Burro. No matter what time of day the food is hot and ready to eat. It a great home town place. A great view, friendly smiles, and delicious food.
