Very romantic anniversary!
DESCRIPTION: I had always seen the Copacabana Restaurant up on the hill off of the 10 freeway. It looked nice so I stopped off 1 day from work. At first, when you arrive you walk thru a walkway surrounded by cascading waterfalls and fish ponds. Then they have giant cage with real tropical birds. The style and feel of the place is very modern including granite floors and a lot of glass, yet includes a bunch of Cuban/Spanish themed paintings and congas throughout. I immediately made a reservation for me and my wife's 7th wedding anniversary. We came in for dinner a week later. My wife ordered a "Paella" and I ordered the "Cuban Fried Rice". They were both delicious and we even took the rest home. I recommend the place.

Worst Mother's day ever!!
DESCRIPTION: I guess it's true that you can't judge a book by its cover. Seeing the Coppacabana restaurant overlooking Pomona w/cute Christmas lights decorating the surrounding palm trees, you would not have expected the restaurant to be SO bad but it really was. We went there for the Mother's day buffet and almost got seated at a table that was located right outside of the kitchen and on top of that, it had absolutely NO view. Now why would I go to a restaurant on top of a hill to sit and stare at a wall? To continue, the floors were greasy, the food was bad, and we had to ask for things not once, not twice but 3 times! All in all, I would never in a million years go back or recommend anyone go there for special occasions. If anything, go there just for the salsa dancing on Thursdays and Fridays. That way, you're not subjected to the poor food or the service.

The Most Delicious Cuban Food
DESCRIPTION: Wow! What a difference new management makes! After not having eaten there for quite some time, it was a pleasant suprise to find that the service had improved to more than acceptable levels. I was ready to brave the downside of poor service because the food is so good -- but, not necessary. The hostess was stylish and well-dressed, the wait staff clean and professional, the tables well-situated and the piano a nice accompanyment to the most delicious Cuban food available at any L.A. area restaurant. To add to the memorable experience, the beautfully lit freeways make for a glamorous view (although I'm sure the drivers trapped in gridlock see it a different way!). See this restaurant in a different and better way than ever. Get dressed up, bring your appetite and be prepared to have an excellent meal with Cuban flair. The martinis are as good as the mojitos too!

DESCRIPTION: I went to Hula's during a vacation to Monterey, and everything was so tasty that whenever I think of going back to that city, I think of going back and ordering their fried calamari appetizer -- tender calamari steaks with a just-sweet-enough sauce. My mouth is watering.

DESCRIPTION: Here is the problem with these advisory websites, thye rarely hit the local spots. By far Hula's is number one with the locals, and when I go on a trip I always want to eat where the locals hang out. Also the only hip restaurant in the county. Great vibe, cool wait staff, great asian/hawaiian influenced food and local prices. Yea, go to one of the top listed restaurants and get ripped off. Go to Hula's and have the time of your trip. I was in there last evening, the ATT Pebble Beach Pro Am has just kicked off. Huey Lewis was in there with a bunch of guys having dinner, then Emmit Smith came in with some guy and sat at the bar. Last month when I was ther Clint Eastwood was sitting with his with and a few other poeple. My hip waitress said he eats there all the time. They should move this place to the top of the list

DESCRIPTION: This restaurant is not what it seeks out to promote itself. it is not a kid friendly restaurant, it is not a family oriented place to have a meal with your family. I don't recommend this place. The service is terrible!

Sweet Potato fries. Mmmm...
DESCRIPTION: Great decor and ambiance. Plenty of knick-knacks to look at while waiting for your food. The staff is a "younger" staff and very personable. A good selection of unusual dishes on the menu. Plenty to choose from if you're a vegetarian. I had a tofu teriyaki wrap with plantain -- VERY good. I will definitely go back to try the rest of the dishes on the menu. Price is very reasonable. Two main dishes, an appetizer and sodas for around $20. Can't beat that.
