DESCRIPTION: WOW - best food I have had. Mostly American fare but with some elegant continental touches. Those familiar with the Common Grill in Chelsea - this (Daryl's) restaurant is owned by the once head chef at Common Grill. The dinner rolls alone are worth going here for.

DESCRIPTION: What a great little spot with great wines and perfect food. NYC style with that avant-garde dining sophistication but with no rush or wait! We have eaten there 3 times for dinner and 2 times for lunch.We loved the specials-the service was excellent-the manager ensured our happiness-the decor is exciting yet intimate. The chef understands the marriage of spices and food and the result is sublime!Iwould highly recommend this restaurant as a must if you are anywhere near Hyde Park-it is worth a detour!

I can't live without TWIST!
DESCRIPTION: Everything at Twsist is consistant and wonderful. My boyfreiend and I eat their every week and we still can't get enough. The service is always friendly and outstanding. I have eaten almost everything on the menu and I love all of it. The food is always so consistant and taste as good as it can get. When I move from the Hudson Valley area, I will make spcial trips here just to go to Twist!

DESCRIPTION: We spent two days there and had breakfast each day and dinner one evening. Every meal was delightful. Presentation and flavor were exceptional. The staff was informative and we particularly enjoyed getting to meet the chef and chat near the fireplace after dinner. Desserts were fabulous. I would rather have an evening here than at The French Laundry. We loved the relaxing atmosphere.

Two Bad Dinners
DESCRIPTION: We go to New Orleans at least twice a year and have eaten at all of the nicest restaurants. We were looking forward to Peristyle, having heard only good things about it. We were disappointed, to say the least. I had the "pan-seared drum fish almondine" and my wife had the "Squab with Dirty Rice". My fish was over-fried in butter (and oil?) and served over under-cooked potato cubes with about two cups of toasted almond slices dumped on top--not what I would expect from a top-rated restaurant. My wife's squab was served with a "Foie Gras Reduction" which gave the whole dish the over-powering smell and taste of very strong liver. The "Dirty Rice" complemented the squab by including chunks of liver in it. However, if you like liver, then this would be the dish for you. We could not eat it! The waiter was kind enough to offer to bring something else, but not to adjust the final bill. Peristyle is off our list of restaurants to recommend in New Orleans.

Poor Customer Service, the Owner Is Rude
DESCRIPTION: We had a very poor experience at Ariel's on Valentines Day. We wrote a letter to express our dissatisfation, and asked for a partial refund, in a truthful, but non-rude manner. We received a rude, hostile letter in response, and was told no refund would be issued. Talking to the owner, Lee, on the phone was very hostile, and she was not friendly, warm or welcoming to anything I had to say.

Absolutely Lovely
DESCRIPTION: A little funky, a little out of the way, but well worth the trip. The food is marvelous, Richard is charming and helpful with wines, but never pushy, and the whole experience has a kind of homestyle elegance that leaves you completely comfortable, well-nourished, and just throughly content. The pub menu is the best deal around - we had dinner for 4 with drinks, appetizers, main course, dessert, and 2 bottles of wine for under $200.

Fantastic food and excellent service
DESCRIPTION: The fish is incredibly fresh and well prepared. The waitstaff actually remember your name and make you feel right at home. There is often a wait to sit, but that is because the food and experience is worth waiting for. Strongly recommend this to both family and friends.
