DESCRIPTION: There are two dining areas in the Hotel Du Pont: The Green Room and the The Brandywine Room I have eaten brunch in The Green Room and let me tell you it was wonderful; the atmosphere is amazing the food was great (I to this day compare any pastry they I ever eat to the divine creations I was received there). It was a combination of table service for a main course and buffet for other stuff. <P> I have eaten dinner in The Brandywine Room. Finely carved dark wood makes for great ambiance. The food was good but I would probably give it four stars. <P> On the whole I would call this place is a very good restaurant, pricey but worth it. I don t think it quite hits the amazing mark that one might call five stars.

Best kept dining secret
DESCRIPTION: My sister and I went here for Mother's Day. We had one of the best dining experiences ever. The food was not only interesting, but impressive, the service was attentive. Also, we were not rushed and the dining areas were small and intimate. The Inn also has an impressive Martini and Wine list.

Best Ever!!
DESCRIPTION: We stumbled upon this place while wandering about this area of New Jersey, and what a find it was! The service was both excellent and friendly; the food was fabulous; the wine and beer selection was excellent; the prices were quite reasonable; and the atmosphere was like something out of a romantic movie -- cozy table for two in an intimate room, tucked away by the blazing fireplace... this was an evening of sheer bliss. Can't wait to go back!

Penny Wise and Pound Foolish
DESCRIPTION: An otherwise fairly enjoyable meal was ruined by the attitude of the staff. I am dieting and did not want potatoes or rice, so I requested a substitution of vegetables for the above. I was informed that "since vegetables were more expensive than rice or potatoes, there would be and extra charge of $3.00. I paid the $3.00 and received 5 stalks of asparagus. Needless to say, I will not return.

Nice to treat yourself once in a while
DESCRIPTION: Unfortunately they can't seem to hold on to waitstaff for too long, but the service is always good, given the turnaround. The owner is very welcoming, the art work is a great topic of conversation, and if only there were more cafes and people around the park you could truly make belive you were in Europe. The one thing that is not left to the imagination is the food, seems to be reliable and worth exploring this hidden gem of the District!

Good food but overpriced
DESCRIPTION: The cafe has a nice ambience and the service is good, but the menu is overpriced for what you get. We ordered the green salad for $10 and got merely a small pile of mixed greens with palm and artichoke hearts. A mussels appetizer was $14 for a healthy portion of mussels but nothing special with the broth. Unfortunately, that was a reoccurring theme throughout the dinner. There was nothing special to make it worth the inflated price. The entrees, while tasty, was not entirely well prepared. I asked for medium for duck breast and it came medium rare (some parts just downright rare) while my husband's tuna steak (the special) were thin cuts of tuna. It seemd that a tuna steak had been butterflied to cut costs. I felt that for the price, everything should have been perfect but ultimately, the ambience did not make it worth the price.

Taste - Spectacular!
DESCRIPTION: Baked crab cake appetizer with no fillers - savored the aroma of crab and herbs, no sauce needed - very juicy. Finally a REAL crabcake in DC. The hangar steak special is a MUST try - tender enough to cut with a fork - I could have sworn the cut of meat was a filet, not a hangar steak. As I sat there savoring every bite, I could not help but wonder "who is this chef and where did she come from?". I am from New Orleans and finally found a fabulous restaurant to bring guests.

Horrible
DESCRIPTION: Don't go. It is a beautiful little spot on the Park, but maybe if enough people don't go, it will have to change hands. Only house wine by the glass. Waiter told us their wasn't any Pinot Noir, then we heard owner say he had a brand new one and gave next table tastings. We had to ask about our salads after they were not delivered twenty minutes after ordering. (Our waiter was no where in sight, so we had to flag down one of the other servers and this is a tiny place!!) Salads were very average. Not enough pears on pear/gorgonzola salad. After another long wait our Paella for two was served in a smallish cast iron skillet. It was not good. We each ate several very dry mussels, some very dry chicken, very dry sausage, very dry rice, you get the message. It was very dry. The shrimp were okay but not good enough to cover for the rest of the dish. The dish is $46. It should be spectacular for that price. One of the mussels was still shut. This should never happen. We told the waiter clearing the dishes (still not our waiter)that it wasn't very good. He said we should have quit eating it. Nice. We paid our bill and got as quickly as possible. Nothing like a bad expensive meal to ruin a Saturday nights.

Pleasantly Surprised
DESCRIPTION: My family and I saw this restaurant when we were visiting my mother at Boswell Hospital. We were pleasantly surprised at how well everything went. They were very busy and yet everything went smoothly. We will definately be back soon.

Maria Teresa a Local Treasure
DESCRIPTION: Whatever we were expecting, Maria Teresa was a complete suprise. We'd been told they served New Mexican food, but when we arrived we found that new ownership had completely changed the menu. I thoroughly enjoyed my Tuna Tataki, a sushi-style presentation, and my wife had the Goose Liver Pate with Carolina golden barbeque sauce. For dinner, I had the Chicken Pinon and she had the Pasta Maria Teresa with crab, shrimp and scallolps in a green chile cream sauce. Dessert was cherry chipotle pie, incredible. We had the best service we have experienced in years. Add in the charming victorian decor and this is a must see restaurant.

Vintage Wine and Coffee Bar...a well kept secret
DESCRIPTION: This restaurant is one of the best I have tried. I have had steak, fish, pork, most side dishes and snacks. The food is incredible. It is perfectly spiced (especially the garlic mashed potatos and the augratin potatos). The food is warm and the portions are generous. Prices are very reasonable and it is served attractively. My husband and I eat there at least once a week now. It is worth the trip from San Antonio. The ambiance is relaxed and personable. Service is prompt and friendly. The have fun live music and the wine list is excellent. They always have a great special that includes both food and wine. What a great place to go. It is my personal favorite. Being able to shop at the gallery next door is also a plus. The owners are delighful and really make it fun. Love it!!!

DESCRIPTION: Please don't tell your friends, they wouldn't believe it anyway. It's real. It's good - it's very good. It's relaxed and friendly. You can't get out without a conversation or four. No TV. No pool table. No smoking inside. Glen Miller, big band music, some 60 s, or Jazz, it just depends. Special events without large promotions. Customized menu for your anniversary. Wine tastings. Irish wakes. Limited seating monthly dinners. You name it or let them figure it out for you. Service like you'd provide to your friends and family. Lots of fresh items made from scratch. You'd rather have veggies than beans - OK. Want to sit alone in the other room - OK. Don't know which wine to have? try this, or this, or this. OK? Regulars abound in this Hill Country "Cheers" restaurant (not a bar or beer joint). Owners support local business, talent, and organizations. More class, style, quality, and service than you'll find in similar establishments in neighboring counties. Move it to 1604 and you'd have to wait in a long line to get in. OK - so I'm sold on the place. Please think I'm crazy and stay in Bexar County. (I d hate to lose my parking spot).

NYC on the shoreline

Tapas on the patio
DESCRIPTION: Great food. Great ambience and a really fun place where you 'can't' hear the conversation next to you because of the jazzy lounge music and everyone's having a great time. Tough to get into the dining room on a weekend, but I prefer the patio and parking my keyster on the couches. Tapas + Couches + Acid jazz + martinis... I may never go to another place again. I had the moquecka (Spelling?) a Brazillian fish stew - out of this world.

DESCRIPTION: There are no rules when it comes to parking here. Although I usually park at post office and stroll down with my wife. If there's a spot on the grass in front, I'll grab it. Why all this talk about parking? well, because the secret is out. Jeff has the best food around and his innovative menus keep me coming back every week. Although it's a bit easy for my wife and I to eat on a Tuesday rather than elbowing some young couple off a bar seat on a Friday. We're so happy for Jeff. To watch how his following has grown.

DESCRIPTION: The Tidewater is a disaster: 1.They take 1-1/4 hrs before they serve the entree. They say that sau gratin doesn't mean served with cheese. How absurb!! Ruinned my whole meal. The waitress and the covering manager were useless in making an accommodation and blamed the problem on me.

A must stop off of 95
DESCRIPTION: I've been to the Tidewater Grille 3 times- all during my treks from CT to FL on Interstate 95. It's a great, casual restaurant and I find the food to be delicious, particularly the clam chowder and the desserts, made in town. Havre de Grace is a charming town, and an easy off and on from 95. Enjoy!

DESCRIPTION: After we found it, next to some junkyard, It seemed like we were in some horrible acid flashback. This place is bad news. WAY OVERPRICED!!!!! I did like the tacky deco!! If I was gay I'd eat here every night. The people seem to be guarded - bordering on paranoia. If you want to pick up on this 2nd-hand High try the skunk beer. Not worth the money or time. These people belong in pennsburg next to some pizza shop serving pierogies & tuna sandwiches.

DESCRIPTION: While this restaurant is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, we were pleasantly surprised. The ambience is very nice (if you like a country-motif)and the food was very good. Great Bistro in Teaneck!
DESCRIPTION: This restaurant is a wonderful surprise! The atmosphere was cozy and the food was wonderful. The chef really knows what he is doing. The appetizer of soft shell crab was sweet and crispy. The salmon was pan seared - crispy on the outside and moist in the center. The wine was outstanding, if a bit skimpy (order a bottle for better value). The Cheddar Cheese cake was delicious.
