Great Dim Sum
DESCRIPTION: At lunch time Ming's you have a choice of ordering off the menu, or getting Dim Sum. Go for the Dim Sum! In case you haven't had Dim Sum before, just wait for a waiter to come by with a trolly of food, and take whatever looks good. Just be careful, it's easy to lose track and run up a big bill.

Very good authentic Hong Kong dim sum
DESCRIPTION: If you are in the South San Francisco area or just have some dead time while catching a flight don't miss a trip to Fook Yuen. The dim sum is excellent. Everything tastes very fresh. (sea food, vegetables and such) The only down side is the wait.

Very good dim sum, great price
DESCRIPTION: I was looking for good Dim Sum close to home (Burlingame), and Fook Yuen hit the spot. They're just south of the other Fook Yuen location (sister restaurants?) where I've gotten good BBQ dishes for take-out. This one's a seafood/dim sum place. Crowded but excellent and fast service on a Friday lunch. I haven't been there on the weekend. The dim sum had lots of variety in the dishes, and everything was quite good. We spent $30 for a large meal for two hungry grownups and a small child.

Good food but ruined by rudeness
DESCRIPTION: A few days ago, we took some out of town friends for a dimsun lunch at Fook Yuen. When I did not charge the tip on my credit card (as I was intending to give it in cash), the manager came and in a loud voice started asking for the tip. As we were about to leave and I was taking money out of my wallet, another manager came and started demanding for the tip. In anger, I left a $2 tip. The manager ran after us when we were already out of the restaurant, and again was demanding for a tip. I told him that the $2 I left was in fact more than what he deserved. I am amazed at the aggressiveness that the restaurant's management pursued the issue; they were intimidating and their demand sounded more like extortion. I am surprised that the food severs who actually rendered the service were not invested at all in the process. Patrons beware !

It's Sum good Dim Sum
DESCRIPTION: Good for those quick fix needs. Food is inexpensive, beware of the lines on the weekends. Delightful during the New Year when dancing dragons adorn the center. The House Special Lobster is out of this world. Feel free to order Dim sum off the menu if not on a cart, they are sure to please.

The Worst Service, Okay Food
DESCRIPTION: There is a known saying in the customer service industry: If you like something you will most likely tell one person but if you don't like something you will tell 100 people. I believe it is a necessary service to prospective patrons to know that if you are not Chinese, do not go to this restaurant! The owners and staff are rude and inconsiderate and the food is only adequate. It is shocking that they are recognized as one of the best in the area. I will never eat there again. The overall ambiance was simple and cold. Every person working there wore a scowl on their face.

Just 2 things to ask about your service
DESCRIPTION: 1. Do not throw the menu, plates, & utensils. 2. Do not talk to others when you are talking to customers, especially, taking orders. Hope it's not too much to ask (to clueless people). Meat dishes smell in spite of high price. Enormous dim sum variety & most are good, however, each dish is more expensive than other restaurants. Thy shall not expect good service at Chinese restaurants is a general rule even though they are known as expensive. *I rated as 'OK' because service differs when I go with Taiwanese friends.

Tasty place but crowded!
DESCRIPTION: I enjoyed dim sum at the JLP on Sunday and had to wait an hour. However, the wait was worth it because the dim sum was very good. Not as good as SF Chinatown, but close 8^) I found the service quite friendly but per an earlier reviewer it might have been because I'm Chinese. The servers were prompt. The food was just at the right temperatures. The facility was welcoming! It's a wonderful Sunday treat!
