"Overnight Apple French Toast" from I-29 Big Sioux Truck Stop Cafe, Grand Forks, ND
1 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup butter or margarine 2 tablespoons corn syrup 2 large tart apples peeled and sliced 3 eggs 1 cup milk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 9 slices day old French bread 3/4 inch ***syrup*** 1 cup applesauce 1 jar apple jelly 10 ounces 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon cloves In a small saucepan, cook brown sugar, butter and syrup until thick, about 5 to 7 minutes. Pour into an ungreased 9 x 13 pan; arrange apples on top. In a mixing bowl, beat eggs, milk and vanilla. Dip bread slices into the egg mixture for 1 minute; place over apples. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before baking. Bake, uncovered at 350 for 35 to 40 minutes. Combine syrup ingredients in a medium saucepan; cook and stir until hot. Serve over French toast. Source: Taste of Home Magazine.

DESCRIPTION: My name is Jamie Ray Oster. I'm currently an active duty United States Marine. I'm from ND and used to be an employee for the Kroll's corporation. During my years of working there, I had a great time, learned lots of things, met great people, and enjoyed everything about it. The Kroll's Diner, located in Mandan, ND was the location of my employment. During that time and the few times I get to visit home, it is one of my favorite places to take family and friends, to enjoy great food and service, to relax in a fun atmosphere such as the diner in Mandan. Things have been very busy for me since I left home. Between attending college at UNC Chapel Hill, playing football and Rugby for the USMC, plus my military career, aviation intellegence. I'm a busy man, but I'm never to busy to extend gratitude and thanks for friends, family, and former co-workers back at home in Mandan. -wishing you the best always, God Bless!
