DESCRIPTION: Food was excellent with a menu full of Greek standards, plus some that are harder to find, like the dessert galatoboureko. Service was thorough -- busboys promptly scooped up our crumbs so we could enjoy dessert and coffee on a clean tablecloth -- and I detected only minor eye rolling when we ordered the obligatory saganaki. Normally I'm skeptical of enormous ethnic successes, the kind of place that now sells shirts and baseball caps. Like Reza's up north, the food and atmosphere can feel mass-produced. Fortunately GI is broken up into several smaller rooms. After enough retsina (can there ever be enough retsina?), one can squint and almost feel like they're back in a seaside taverna.

Authentic Greek Experience!
DESCRIPTION: Taverna Opa is located just south of downtown Columbus on S. High Street, located in a historic German Village home. You enter through the quaint blooming garden where you can also dine outdoors. They can accommodate large party functions upstairs, which is richly decorated. The bar area typically provides live entertainment on Thursday evenings from Tracy Carter, and live Greek music and belly dancers on weekends. Weather permitting, the band may be outdoors. Lack of Cleanliness
DESCRIPTION: The food is fair, some things are somewhat tasty. However, it is not the cleanest restaurant in town. They should pay more attention to that. Service average. My server acted as though she wished I'd stayed home.

DESCRIPTION: Kalo's has been renovated and turned into a southern chain, Moe's. It used to be a pretty fun hang out with just a little bar and some nice people there.
