Fabulous Indian Food
DESCRIPTION: Wow, Punjab has been great from the start. My husband and I have tried many Indian restaurants and Punjab is one of our top 3. We usually opt for takeout. I've only eaten there twice. One time the service and staff were great. The first time the wait staff was spotty. There were several mistakes and not all dishes ordered were delivered at the right time, even after several inquiries.

I loved every bite
DESCRIPTION: This is my favorite Indian Restaurant. We went there last Thanksgiving (my 89 year old mother has Alzheimers and loves lamb and not turkey) and went three weeks ago and are off for our Thanksgiving Day meal!!! I love it. They treat you like royalty and do anything to please you.

Best in Boston
DESCRIPTION: I'm Indian and live in the Boston area and am *very particular* when it comes to restaurants (especially Indian ones). Having tried lots of Indian restaurants in and around Boston, I tell all my non-Indian friends that Punjab in Arlington is the best Indian restaurant in and around Boston. I'll venture to say that it's one of the best I've eaten at here in the US. A note to the uninitiated: Most Indian restaurants in the US typically specialize in Punjabi cuisine (Punjab being a northwestern state in India) and is not (and should not) be considered to be representative of Indian cuisine. I do see a lot more South Indian vegetarian restaurants nowadays too. However, there is so much more variety in Indian cuisine that is regional and worth exploring if you get the chance.

DESCRIPTION: WHILE ON VACATION TO ORLANDO, MY FAMILY AND I VISITED THIS RESTAURANT WITH A CRAVING FOR GREAT TASTY NORTHEN INDIAN STYLE FOOD. MY HUSBAND IS FROM PUNJAB AND WE HAVE THREE INDIAN RESTAURANTS IN VA AND MD. WE WERE DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED IN THE FOOD AND THE PLACE WAS SO VERY DIRTY. Super, but can be expensive
DESCRIPTION: We have lived in Boston as well as the San Francisco area, both of which abound with teriffic Indian restaurants. I found this to be on a par with some of the best, and the atmosphere was outstanding. The only downside I found was that the waiter was rather pushy and talked us into an extremely expensive meal, albeit quite varied. If you choose a single dish however the price is reasonable. I did not try the Tandoori, however, so cannot vouch for it. I tried the Vindaloo, which was quite spicy (they asked, and I said I wanted it "traditional" :-) and tasty. Service was very attentive. The "breads" can add up - we overdid it and had Poori, Papadam, and Chapati, which were all good but they pushed out the bill. The Poori in particular was light and not greasy - yum! Try it - you will not be disappointed I think.

DESCRIPTION: I love this restaurant. This restaurant has the best South Indian food in the area by far. The chutneys and dosas are fresh and the staff (for the most part) is outstanding. Plus the fact that this location is 100% vegetarian is another positive point.

DESCRIPTION: A nice white table cloth kinda place with good Indian food. It can get crowded though and don't believe their estimates on when a table will be ready. Their dishes are all pretty good but I don't like the Onion Kulcha here for some reason.

Discriminate against brown-skinned folks.
DESCRIPTION: The quality of the food, decor, speed of service etc. are top notch. No complaints whatsoever. Further, if you are American or white-skinned, rest assured that you will be treated cordially. In short, you will have a good experience - if you are white. If you are Indian, you'll get to eat the same food, but unfortunately, you will only be tolerated, not welcomed. And this isn't a conclusion from one isolated example. Rather, it is a verifiable pattern of behavior that I have experienced at this restaurant over about 6 years and have corroborated it with experiences of other Indian friends. Some circumstantial evidence for this is the fact that close to 95% of the clientele is white. Just take a peek into the restaurant on any night and count. You'll verify the number. The waiters spend a lot of time at American tables, chatting with the customers, asking them how things were, what they're doing for the weekend etc. Not ONCE has anyone chatted with us. We've been asked how the food was exactly once by a woman manager (strangely, that was the only time I saw her in the restaurant). You may ask why we kept going there for all these years inspite of the shabby treatment. Well, we never thought much about it and to put it more honestly, we just loved the food and overlooked the racism. I was over there last week (after about a year) and given the same treatment - but this time a waiter made sarcastic remarks for us asking for a refill on rice. I sent them a note on their website about my experience (www.haandi.com). Have received no response. Given they have received good reviews they're probably not bothered to correct their behavior. My hope is at least some well minded Americans will read this review and decide to not give Haandi their business.

Better than the rest
DESCRIPTION: Outstanding Tandoori Chicken, Spinach Curry, and especially the breads. Nice space, though you may feel tiny compared to the huge lilies on the walls. Don't be fooled by the rather generic lunch buffet. Come for dinner. A step above the rest. The only first-date-worthy Indian place I can think of.

Good Indian food, great buffet!
DESCRIPTION: A favorite lunch break of my friends and coworkers. The buffet varies from day to day, but each unique dish is always well prepared. You will find tasty (but not over-spiced) chicken, lamb, lentils, chick peas, spinach, and rice, etc. All of a quality not normally found in a buffet. It's all good.

please avoid- a shame to indian food and hospitality
DESCRIPTION: I am Indian, and I've been to Kashmir twice. This is not real Indian food, and don't make your opinion on Indian food based on this restaurant. The atmosphere is really depressing and food is not cooked (it is raw). The food they serve seems like the leftovers from what they ate at home. If you go alone and even if all the trays were empty, they would not refill it. Hospitality wise they are very hostile. Very bad food, Very little food, and hostile hosts. Stay away.

WHAT??? I LOVE Kashmir
DESCRIPTION: Have been going to this restaurant since '96 while attending undergrad at UK. I live about 45 minutes from Lex, but try to eat there every couple of months. Love the menu and food. Try the cheese nan and mushroom chicken. I have never been disappointed. However, I do not eat the buffet, not enough choices for me, but know many who love it.

DESCRIPTION: The place lacks a little ambience but the food is better than any place in Palm Beach County that we've been to thus far. We ordered the chicken curry and chicken tikka Botti, both with medium spice. The effect was exactly what you should get from good Indian food. The garlic nan bread was a little different but not bad. We recommend the Khyber highly.
