Franklin's Best Kept Secret
DESCRIPTION: The menu tempts you with seafood, steak, veal, chicken or pasta. Each dish is better than the next. I enjoyed the twin filet mignon and my guest had chicken with broccoli and pasta in alfredo sauce. The server was friendly and accomodating. Prices were reasonable and the function room is roomy and comfortable.

A Secret That Should Be Kept
DESCRIPTION: The restaurant is doing surprisingly well in spite of a lackluster menu, marginal service at best, and antics that can only be described as disgusting. Servers cursing and throwing things at one another, all in ear and sight shot of the customers. I can't remember ever seeing a display so immature. Dining should be drama-free for the customer and dinner a delight. We tried Florentina 5 separate occasions and did not find this to be even an average dining experience.

DESCRIPTION: Have been to the Florentina numerous times recently - exceptional food and service each visit. The menu is lengthy and has a variety of specials. True Italian food. Desserts are divine.

Did Not Live Up to Expectation
DESCRIPTION: Have been there twice and both times received substandard service and entrees. Their portions are small and their prices are high. The menu is uninspired and the specials simply aren't.

Absolutely the Best
DESCRIPTION: This is one of the best Italian restaurant I have been to in the Franklin Area. Food is fantastic no matter what your taste. The menu has so many things to choose from and only the anti Italian food lovers would have a problem. I love the pasta dishes and the appetizers are fantastic. If you are on the Atkins diet, ask for the Calamari appetizer sauteed with no batter. Tender as can be and delicious.

Italian Food Lovers Won't Settle
DESCRIPTION: I frequent restaurants in the North End of Boston and when I ventured into Florentina I was amazed that they call the place Italian. The dishes are loosely Italian, but more Americanized than anything. They are so-so at best. The service is non-professional. Some are better than others but you can't take a person off the street in the morning, give them an apron and expect them to know the etiquette and customs. The prices are way too high for a 1 star joint.

A winning sequel.
DESCRIPTION: This second outpost of Bottega Fiorentina doesn't have quite the same quirky charm as the original -- I miss the Italian grocery items and the long picnic table -- but the food is just as good, and it's still a bargain. The less busy location on the edge of Brookline Village also means that it's usually not as crowded as the original, so the chances of finding a seat are often better. This location looks a bit more like a standard deli, but don't be fooled. The sandwiches are made with the same great bread and high quality fillings as at the original, and the pastas are still made to order. Both locations are excellent choices for inexpensive, casual meals.

DESCRIPTION: really great pesto, really great gnocchi, which comes with really great toasty garlic bread, and inexpensive big thin crust slices. crab cakes good too, but relatively expensive.
