Very Slow but Worth the Wait
DESCRIPTION: I've been there four times and each time I notice the service is slower than the last. However, the sushi is fantastic. It's worth the wait, but it can be a bit frustrating.

Best Food Ever
DESCRIPTION: Let me just say one thing: If you like food, entertainment, sports, as well as a friendly atmosphere, then this is the place for you! Both the Chinese side as well as the Japanese side are exceptional, the Japanese cooking at table being the crown jewel of this restaurant.

If You Like Salt, This Is the Place to Eat.

Chef Is the Best
DESCRIPTION: Chef Orient is the best! Best buffet ever!!! And the waiter who says "yes" to everything, is the man!!! This place is a ten out of ten, and if u don't like, it, u must be crazay.

Nice!
DESCRIPTION: This place is great. I've never been to the Japanese side (with the personal fry cook) but the Chinese side is great. Best Chinese I've had. Service is also excellent. We get the same waiter every time we go for some reason and he rocks.

DESCRIPTION: Watch out... I paid a bill with my credit card that already had 18% included, and so didn't tip anymore on the credit card slip - they charged my card ANOTHER 20% anyway.

Superb Sushi in unassuming location
DESCRIPTION: Toraya has consistently offered extremely high quality japanese food from this location for five years. The sushi is unrivaled for authentic, fresh and straightforward presentation. No gold leaf in your wrap or funky ingredients and prices like oishi but wow is it great. Friendly owner/sushi chef Shingi (SP?) and staff.

One of the Best
DESCRIPTION: Fugakyu is one of the top choices for Japanese food, not just in Brookline, but in the Greater Boston area. Unlike many of the new Japanese spots, Fugakyu gives equal attention to the atmosphere and the food. The bamboo-centric decor goes far beyond the standard sushi bar, and the many small rooms allow diners to feel like they are dining in a semi-private (or, in some cases, private) restaurant. The arrangement also seems to cut the noise that is so prevalent when dining out these days. Unfortunately, the layout also seems to slow the servers, and the food, down. At times, I wondered if they remembered I was even there. However, when the food does arrive, the taste banishes all thought of those small details. The chefs at Fugakyu do a very good job indeed. Unfortunately, although you will certainly leave full and satisfied, your wallet may seem quite a bit lighter. The food and ambiance are great -- I'm just not sure if the value is.

DESCRIPTION: There's usually a wait at this incredible Japanese restaurant, but go put your name in and have cocktail hour at the bar. Largest sushi menu with the freshest fish. Lots of vegetarian items as well.
