"Kahlua Stir-Fry Chicken" from Pita Paradise, Carol Stream, IL
2 tb Egg; beaten 1/4 c Oil + 2 TB Oil 2 tb Cornstarch 1 1/2 lb Chicken; boneless, skinless cut into 1/2 inch cubes 1/2 c Waterchestnuts; sliced 4 oz Mushrooms; sliced 1 cn Bamboo shoots 1/4 lb Bean sprouts 4 oz Snow peas (optional) 3 tb Kahlua MIXED WITH 1 ts Cornstarch 1 c Cashews Coat chicken in mixture of egg, 2 tsbp oil and the cornstarch. Heat the remaining oil in a wok. Add chicken, stir well. Cook until golden brown. Remove chicken to plate or bowl. Drain well. Leaving very little oil in the wok, add all the vegetables. Stir fry for 3 5 minutes. Add kahlua cornstarch mixture, stir well. Simmer and add the chicken back in. Add the cashews. Stir well. Transfer to a heated serving platter. Makes 4 6 servings

DESCRIPTION: We went to Diva on a snowy Sunday night, around 8 p.m. and had a very pleasant experience. The food was excellent, the service good and corteous and to our surprise there was pleasant live music that did not interfere with conversation. Very reasonable prices too. We recommend it very highly. we already have passed out their cards. Hope they make it!

DESCRIPTION: Experience Contemporary and Old World Turkish cuisine in a space that combines the traditional, family-oriented culture of the Middle East and the romantic atmosphere of the Mediterranean. Executive Chef Mehmet Ak, has created a menu that offers over 25 entrees, nearly half of them vegetarian: baby eggplant stuffed with onions, red and green pepper, pine nuts and Turkish feta, topped with Kasseri cheese and a rich garlic tomato sauce; or portabella mushrooms saut ed with broccoli, zucchini and carrots over humus with pinenuts and raisins. Meat dishes include saffron-dusted shrimp and potatoes or marinated chicken sauteed with broccoli, carrots, zucchini and mushrooms in a curry-wine-tomato sauce. There are also Turkish kababs galore, plus standards like falafil, humus, dolma, and musakka. The room is semiformal -- dim lighting, candlelight, white tablecloths, Turkish textiles on the walls -- and you can sit on floor cushions at one of two low tables up front. Very romantic and relaxing atmosphere, with a great selection of Turkish wines and beer.

Undiscovered but Great
DESCRIPTION: We used to go to this restaurant when it was on the corner of North and Sheffield and only had five seats. Now, while it's harder to get to at Belmont and Racine, it seats about 30...and the food is still fabulous. Whatever you like in Middle Eastern food, you'll find it here, along with a wonderful family to serve it to you. Lots of vegetarian dishes too and very generous portions.
