DESCRIPTION: This was the best Mongolian barbecue value around until the owner died last year. His son has bumped up the prices, but it's still a great feed and one of our family favorites. You need to watch someone else go through the line to see how to get the most in your bowl before giving it to the cook. I recommend asking for the pork or beef at lunch because they only have chicken out then. Don't skimp on the lobster sauce and/or curry sauce to get the best results.

DESCRIPTION: Cold, barely thawed chicken, not stirred enough while on the grill. Cool soup, not hot rice, when notified the cashier said "oh really". We're not pleased with this place.

Build the perfect meal.
DESCRIPTION: Even on the dreariest New Jersey winter day, the smiles from "Charlie Chan" (that's the name he goes by but for some reason, I don't think it's his REAL name : ) ) and his friendly and ever-attentive staff, the oldies rock being played, and the clean and well lit just brighten your spirits. You can order traditional Chinese dishes and sushi, but hey... you're here for the Mongolian grill anyway. So after ordering the type of rice and soup you want with your buffet, grab a big bowl and start filling. You know the drill, meats, veggies, and of course those noodles, slather on the sauce and hand it over to the man with the big hat. Moments later, a steaming dish of yum. (Want to impress your date or the kiddies? Put a buck in the tip jar and the chef will ring the tip bell). On the way back, take a look at the small Chinese buffet choices... scallion pancake, sweet and sour chicken, lo mein, and more. And grab some since you want your Mongolian grub to cool down (I've burnt many a taste bud trying to scarf the delish stuff too quickly!). Sit down and enjoy some conversation and good food that you actually made to order. At lunch, you can only make one trip to the grill but at dinner, it's all you can eat. Expect to spend about $7 for lunch and $11 for dinner.l

Healthy and Inexpensive
DESCRIPTION: J.P. Lee's in Millburn is an exceptional restaurant. Not only is the food outstanding, the people there treat you like one of their own. The manager at the front of the restaurant, Charlie, is funny and witty. He can speak mulitple languages as well as give you free chopstick lessons. What I liked most about this place was that I was able to create my own meal. The Mongolian BBQ is their specialty, and this is where you choose your favorite meats, veggies, noodles, and sauces to be grilled right in front of you. The chefs use giant chopsticks to cook your meal to perfection. The sushi, chinese buffet, and shrimp cocktail are all included in the dinner buffet. The value I got for this price was exceptional. For $10.95 per person you will not leave the restaurant hungry. This is an extremely fresh and healthy way of eating. They take cash, as well as MC, Visa, and Discover. Also, you can bring your own liquior without a problem. They have all of the necessary ammenities for the alcohol(wine opener, glasses, and ice buckets). J.P. Lee's is truly an extraordinary value.

DESCRIPTION: Ok well let me start off by saying this is my favorite resturaunt! But be careful... don't go on a full stomach. It's a good idea not to eat lunch before going there for dinner. I usually go for around at the bbq, a round of sushi, some egg drop soup and if i have any room (remember no lunch before this) i'll go for the chinese buffet. Really friendly... Charlie really knows his customers... He greets my family on a first name basis every time!

DESCRIPTION: I had heard many good reviews of Khan's from friends, but I had no idea what I was in for. The food was amazing...after choosing my own meats and veggies, a chef cooked my meal right in front of me. The food was amazing...although the appetizers were a bit too much for my taste. The service was wonderful and friendly. A great place for any occasion!

DESCRIPTION: Khans is a mongolian 'create your own dish' resuraunt. You create your own meal from a great selection of noodles, fruits, vegtables and sauces. Then you submit your custom dish to the cook with your desired meat selection and cooked right in front of you! Food - The food gallery has always been fresh and full. Very clean! Service - The service is always great and straitforward, no long waits. Ambiance - This place has a very simple, clean and visually appealing layout. This is a definate highlight. This is a great alternative to the usual order out teriyaki or alike. This is much more interactive and fun. This place is quite popular so if you are in a hurry, take care to not attend during peak meal hours, the lines can build up! (5-10min wait max)

Excellent
DESCRIPTION: Chang's Mongolian Grill was an excellent restaurant to go to. When my report card arrived in the mail with an Honor's Student Ribon (I am in the eigth grade next year) my family and I decided to go to Chang's Mongolian Grill on Capitol Hill to celebrate. When I walked in, the two things I first noticed were, one, the scene on the wall depicting a raid on China led by Genghis Khan, with what I think is the Great Wall of China in the background, and two, the bright neon colors on the columns and behind the scene. I was greeted by a polite waitress who asked my family and me what we would like to drink and which of the two soups we would like to have, (I don't care for any type of soup so I cannot share my opinion on either of them). I went to the line where I saw decorated bowls which I put some beef strips in, (all of the meats, fruits and vegetables are in strips). The line with meat in it was stocked with beef, pork, chicken, salmon, pollock, and lamb from what I remember, (I know I am forgetting one thing at least). The other line was stocked with fruits and vegetables. I took green onions, regular onions and broccoli to add flavor to the beef. The last line was stocked with liquid spices. There was (from my memory, forgive me if I forgot something) salt water, chili sauce, sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. I saw in front of me a large round grill where two chefs would take your bowls and pour the food and spices onto it to cook it. I saw it sizzle and then the chef took it and placed it onto a plate and I added sesame seeds to it. I sat down at the table and I enjoyed to its fullest. Later that night I enjoyed for more dishes of beef and one of chicken through the same ingredients. I hope to go to Chang's Mongolian Grill soon to enjoy it once again.

Fresh Delicious Kid Friendly and Inexpensive
DESCRIPTION: Our family's favorite restaurant is the Magic Grill on North Ave in Garwood NJ. Soup: hot&sour, wonton, egg drop or vegetable. Next get in line to fill a bowl with thinly slicked chicken, pork and beef. Add noodles and all sorts of fresh vegetables:. celery, onions, scallions, carrots, mushrooms, zucchini, broccoli, bok choy, scallions, onions and sauces (mild soy, spicy barbeque to HOT Szechuan and Hunan). The chef with long shops sticks grills your combo on a HUGE round grill in under a minute. There s a complete Chinese menu and a whole page of vegetarian and vegan specialties too. Lunch s one trip, for dinner as many as you want. Can t beat it; super fast made to order with ingredients you choose. Decor leaves a bit to be desired, but it s a kid friendly place.

Tasty, Healthy, and Quick
DESCRIPTION: At any Mongolian BBQ, you get to pick what meats, vegetables, noodles, and/or sauces you want. At the Magic Grill, they also offer tofu. Strict vegetarians may not be happy having their food cooked on the same grill as the meat, even if it is cleaned off. They also have brown rice which is much much healthier than white rice, and, in my opinion, better-tasting. Rice doesn't go on the grill, but try mixing it in once you get to your table. You can also order off the menu, but i haven't tried that yet.

Stiffing Seniors
DESCRIPTION: Food was okay at Kent's location, however, three seniors in a group of seven were served wine they did not order and required by the manager to pay for them. Chardonnay was the choice of wine, however, three glasses of red wine were served instead. Even after it was pointed out to the manager that Chardonnay is white wine, we were told, "Sorry, you must pay." None of the 100+ residents of our nearby assisted living community will patronize Changs again.
