Big Wok is a Big Hit in our Family
DESCRIPTION: Our kids love it too. They don't even mind that they are eating vegetables. We drive 40 minutes to get there because their selection and quality blows the local competition out of the water.

RECOMMENDED DISHES : All you can eat BBQ

DESCRIPTION: Mongolian barbecue is basically a build it yourself stir fry. Here, there was a small variety of ingredients - four types of meat (turkey, chicken, beef, pork - shrimp avail. for extra charge), and just the basic veggies (cabbage, celery, broccoli, zucch., bean sprouts, carrots, onions - we missed the usual baby corn, mushrooms, peas, etc.) Very few available sauces, and they were fairly bland. Basically, we ate our fill, but it was a pretty mediocre meal. The place is small, so the staff is very small. Three people total: The greeter / server was very stoic, not personable at all. The kitchen / cook / clean up guy was friendly, helpful. The grill guy did his job, though didn't seem to be particularly knowledgable - just piled everything on the grill, whereas I've seen Mongolian grillers who know the hot spots of the grill, know where to put the meat, where to cook the veggies, when to mix 'em, etc. The tables / chairs were clean, but after sitting there a while, we noticed quite a bit of grime. The oriental carvings on the room separators were very dusty - an oily, grimy yuck. The area around the grill was coated in aluminum foil, which led me to notice that the other parts of the nearby wall were pretty dirty... We love Mongolian barbecue (introduced at HuHot in Missoula, MT), and needless to say, this place was disappointing. We're still on the lookout for a great Mongolian grill - where our children would be welcomed - in SoCal.
