Mediocre at Best
DESCRIPTION: I have given this restaurant a fair shot, visiting five times in the past year. They are totally overpriced for what they offer, and while the food is more "authentic" than, say, the Chi Chi's of the world, it is nowhere near as good as some of the places in Boston. The serving sizes are way too small for what you pay (e.g., the quesadillas).

decent food, but not decent people
DESCRIPTION: The cashier at the First Street location consistently tries to overcharge me. She does it the same way each time, and backs down when I challenge the high price she quotes. I am fully convinced that this is done intentionally, and I urge anyone who goes to eat here to be very careful dealing with the staff.

bad service and small size
DESCRIPTION: I was a regular customer there for ages (1998)at the Cambridge Gallaria store. but since last year, the store have really gone down in service and size. I have no issue with the fact that price went up by 50 center, but the size of the burrito went from big to put your fingers around it (thin). The burrito server was measuring rice with spoon and when asked for extra rice (shouldn't even have to ask, rice is what can make the burrito big), the guy would put half a spoon full of rice. I talked with the cashier lady today but she was adament that the size is what it is. I tried to make her understand that I have been a customer there since 1998 and I know the size we were getting. If raising the price is to maintain the size, I am all for it. but raising the price and cut the size is just too much.

Wait not bad, food okay.
DESCRIPTION: Although people often mention their long wait, they separate seating not only into smoking and non-smoking, but also into drinking and non-drinking, and if you want to be seated in the non-smoking, non-drinking section, your wait will be a lot shorter than otherwise. (Something like 5-10 minutes.) The food was just okay, however, although free refills on salsa and chips made it a filling meal.

Nouvelle Grill
DESCRIPTION: Originally billed as a "Latin Grill," now "Mexican Grill" so as not to confuse us gringos, Cha specializes in fast fresh food. The room is somewhat noisy and hard-surfaced, but you'll forget about that when you dig into the fish tacos, Yucatecan Chicken Soup (special), or ensalada mejor. Some people like their burritos a lot too. Greens with balsamic vinaigrette abound, as do grilled vegetables--especially onions.

Worth the Drive from New York
DESCRIPTION: I used to live in Northampton, and I remember when the restaurant opened. I tried it, as I tried all the new restaurants that opened in town. It quickly became a VERY regular place (I ate there at least 2-4 times a week). Not only were the prices great, but the quality of the food could not be beat. The vegetables are grilled to perfection; great flavor and the freshness shines through. I now live in New York and everytime I visit, the first place I eat when I arrive and the last place I eat when I leave is Cha Cha Cha's. In fact, as I sit here in NY, I'm drooling, thinking of what I'm now missing.

A Great Family Place
DESCRIPTION: Tasty, authentic Mexican food. Very reasonably priced. Our family of 5 eats plenty of food for under $30. Our kids love the food. It is quick, no table service, order at the counter. We eat there often - our kitchen outside of the house.

Don't Bother
DESCRIPTION: We went for lunch. Service was slow, as there seemed to be a dearth in waitstaff. I asked for a meal specifically without squash, and they told me it'd take longer to make. It certainly took a long time for the meal to come, and much to my surprise there was plenty of squash in it! Even when I picked the squash out, the meal was lousy. Don't bother with this place.

We love it !
DESCRIPTION: Not "fine" dining, but for this type of meal, it's great. The food here has always been fresh and very reasonably priced. We like the atmosphere and all in all, it's a great place for a light dinner. Only one complaint in the many times we've been and that's when they ran out of corn tortillas and used flour without mentioning to us when we ordered our tacos. I'm sorry, I don't care what American restaurants have made up. Tacos are not soft shell!

Don't Bother
DESCRIPTION: Blah... When will Metrowest get an above average restaurant? Margaritas were good. Tortillas were cold and salsa out of a jar. Calamari appetizer was good but the fajita was average. Seafood burrito had chunks of partially frozen canned lobster meat in it. Waiter never bothered to come by after meal was served. Crowded with people and poor parking.

We Liked It
DESCRIPTION: Yes, it's somewhat small, crowded, and noisy - perfect setting for top notch margaritas. Crab cakes as an appetizer were pretty good, the Mixed Texas Grill (Chorizo, chicken, and beef all in a tangy bbq) was great, and included hominy in addition to the typical staples of beans and rice. My wife enjoyed her chicken and mole sauce - and not many restaurants do a good mole sauce. Try it out if you don't like mega chain Mexican.

DESCRIPTION: Sierras is great! I don't know what that guy [Steve] is talking about. Margaritas are excellent and potent. I always get the enchiladas which always are great. Mix it up with 2 beef and 1 chicken for ultimate pleasure. The place is tiny but that is what is cool about it. Sometimes you do have to wait in a real small bar area, but take that time to get your fade on with a margarita or 2. The only thing that is sometimes sub-par is the service, just not enough attention. And when ordering a drink from the bar be patient, cause that large man behind the bar is in no rush. Overall the place is excellent though.

Sierra's Is Good
DESCRIPTION: I agree that the first guy, Steve, is wrong. My wife and I lived in the southwest for nine years. Now Sierra's is not as awesome as a couple of our favorites out there, but it is by far the closest thing we've found in all of New England so far. The 'ritas were good and all of the food was good, and had much better authenticity and originality than other cheesy chain/family style Mexican places around here. They could improve the outside appearance a bit - you'd drive by it if you weren't paying close attention. Also, it is tiny, but is almost better in that way, making it somewhat of a hidden gem.

Great Drinks
DESCRIPTION: We order take out on a regular basis. Susannah is very nice. My husband and I love having a drink while we wait for our food. Could not ask for a better ending for a hectic work week. Good drinks, good company and good food.

Stick with the Margaritas
DESCRIPTION: Margaritas are great but inconsistent. One night 4 of us were there and ordered the same Margarita. however all 4 tasted and looked different. The food is mediocre at best. Not especially flavorful. One night I ordered fajitas and they gave me quesadillas instead. They were filled with what looked like cooked frozen vegies (cauliflour, shredded carrots and broccoli), and the cheese was boring. I will not go back again.

We Absolutely Love Sierra's
DESCRIPTION: I travel far to go to this restaurant. I've finally found a place that not only serves a Mexican meal with great mole sauce (or a Mexican restaurant that even has this kind of dish) but also great and big tacos, and not only that, but the best margaritas around. Any other Mexican restaurant I go to and order a margarita, it tastes like Windex cleaner. I never have had any less than a perfect margarita here. There is an entire page on the menu of different unique margaritas you can order. Yum! I tried a nice coconuty one the other day. So good, another favorite to add to the list. Another fave are the raspberry margaritas. There really isn't anywhere you can get margaritas like this; it's amazing. Maybe out west somewhere but not in this area. The tacos are BIG and delicious. Usually tacos are small and just don't quite hit the spot at most Mexican restaurants. here, they are a wonderful meal. Also Sierra's serves meals with shredded chicken which believe it or not is rare for most if not all of the Mexican chain restaurants. Usually it's grilled chicken and not all that great at most places. The chips were heated and the salsa has a nice kick to it. The atmosphere is great: dim lighting, cactus and funky wood chandeliers, tiled tables, and fresh cut flowers on every table. Never had a problem with service there either, always friendly or decent staff. Highly recommended.

Always Have a Great Meal and Drinks There
DESCRIPTION: This is our mainstay for Southwestern food around here. I've traveled enough around the Southwest to know what good Southwestern food would be like. I agree that this is not up to that level, but it beats anything New England has to offer for Southwestern food. If you don't want authentic Southwestern service and expect the staff to be napping sometimes don't go to a Southwestern restaurant. I have a friend like Steve; he never gets anything he likes either. And after we went to his favorite restaurant I can understand why. Also, maybe they know how you tip from talking to other friends in the business.

Sierra's Is the Real Deal and Romantic
DESCRIPTION: The people who dislike the food at Sierra's really don't know what they are talking about or authentic Mexican. Perhaps they ate somewhere else. After eating there for years, I know that they make their own salsa and chips from scratch - and all their dishes - especially mole sauce - are terrific. Service can be slow because the place is packed and it is really hard to get in because it is so good. It is small and intimate, which makes it lively and romantic.
