Excellent Food in a Soothing Atmosphere
DESCRIPTION: I am a regular at this place. If you're in the mood for Asian food but don't want greasy, overcooked Chinese, try House of Tibet. I love their soups, which accompany a lot of dishes. The stir fries are tasty, as are the dumplings, a Tibetan staple. The atmosphere is great too--it's dim and warm and there's always introspective Tibetan music being played. Cheap prices too.

Nothing Different!
DESCRIPTION: We had great expectations before arriving at this restaurant. After walking for what felt almost like a mile from the subway station, we were all ready for something different to whet our appetite. We had the Momo dumplings and the Vegetarian fried noodles (recommended by our waitress). The food was a total disappointment. Apart from the complimentary lentil soup that came before the entrees, the food was bland and very ordinary - something which you could have gotten from almost any Asian or Chinese restaurants. If this is what Tibetan food is all about, then I must contend myself by saying - I could have cooked it myself and probably would have done an equally good job at it - if not better. Thumbs up for the lentil soup but not for the rest of the dishes.

I Beg to Differ!
DESCRIPTION: I've been a frequent diner at this restaurant for a few years, and the food is excellent. It might not be as spicy as other Asian food, but it is very flavorful. The momos dumplings are delicious, steamed or fried. My personal favorite is the Sha Tofu with beef. The wait staff is very friendly, and I have a great dining experience every time.

Desperately Missed
DESCRIPTION: We recently moved from Somerville, MA to Tampa, FL. Sadly enough, no place exists like our favorite spot, House of Tibet. We joked that our VISA bill reflected our lifestyle, House of Tibet for nourishment and Home Depot to fix up our apartment. There was nothing quite like the cozy atmosphere, the very friendly, happy to see you staff, the cha nagmo, the sampler appetizer, the sha lagopatzel (please excuse our spelling skills). We are both skilled in the kitchen and simply cannot recreate the masterful subtleties present in many of the dishes served here! Enjoy!
