Gem in the neighborhood
DESCRIPTION: All food is vegetarian with no MSG. It leaves no greasy and dry aftertaste. Food is inexpensive, but over all enjoyable, with some exceptional dishes. The dessert tarts are amazing: no sugar and no milk, totally vegetarian and healthy. You have to try it to believe it.

Definite Go-to Restaurant
DESCRIPTION: The food out in Chennai Woodlands is one of the best in the Massachussets area. I would stick my neck out and say that they are as good as it gets in Chennai itself. The service was good without standing out as either a positive or a negative. One funny thing was that I was speaking to my friends in the vernacular language and used a slang word and he smiled at it. It was kind of good that 8,000 miles from home - someone outside the group does know what is happening! Recommendations: 1. Please do not use plastic cups for water. use glass ones. 2. Sometimes (happened once out of 5 visits), some dishes are served cold.

Great Indian Restaurant Tucked in a Corner
DESCRIPTION: I happened to hear about this place from a friend of mine. I tried them and wow, excellent Indian dishes. The staff and service is great. The prices were very reasonable.

DESCRIPTION: The price is right. The dishes are great. It tastes like they do not use any canned vegetables. The staff is great. I have not eaten any meat dishes only vegtable dishes and they are great.

Excellent Traditional Indian Cuisine
DESCRIPTION: I have tried India Masala Grill several times since it opened in January for both takeout and sit down and loved every experience (though takeout wait times are a bit long). The menu is a nice sampling of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian traditional Indian dishes. This is different from Udupi Bhavan in Framingham in that Udupi is vegetarian only and focuses on a specific region of India. The food quality and preparation at India Masala are excellent and the ambiance in the dining room is very nice - a bit rare for such a small place. One note, at the moment there are few fully "non-spicy" dishes on the menu so those diners that crave the bland may be limited to soup, nan bread, and cucumber salad.
