Great Viet-Thai food
DESCRIPTION: I've had lunches there on Sundays and had dinner there. The Vietnamese salad rolls with shrimp is very good. The curries, hotpots, and Pho are great.

Tasty Thai on the West Side
DESCRIPTION: We ate at Phnom Penh one Tuesday night after getting many good recommendations about the place from friends. They have a varied selection Thai food with many vegetarian choices available. Their appetizers are small, but inexpensive. Their main courses are big enough for at least one meal (I brought half of mine home, one of my friends ate all of his there) and they have some interesting deserts, too. I started with a vegetarian spring roll, which came with some tasty dipping sauce. One of my companions had skewered chicken, which came with a peanutty paste on the side. We both had medium Pad Thai, and let me warn you: there is a big difference between the normal and the medium pad thai. The medium was almost too hot for me, and I'm a lover of spicy foods, so that's saying something. I can't imaging how hot the next two levels of spiciness are. Phnom Penh has a few exotic drinks available, made from fruits that we'd never heard of before but were delicious. The menu is long and detailed, so if you're wondering what something is, you won't need to ask the waitress to find out. Our only caution is that refills on soda are not free, so make sure you ask for some water, too, especially if you're going to be having something that's on the spicy side.

It's clean, affordable & simply delicious!
DESCRIPTION: As a picky consumer, when it comes to dining, my first priority is cleaniness ... then of course the food has to be great. But when the two are expected, price range is normally not exceptionally low. That's not the case for Lee Kam Kee. To top that off, they provide a comfortable atmosphere and excellent service! They are, hands down, one of the best restaurants in the city!

Worth a visit
DESCRIPTION: Youngs is generally excellent but has a very limited Vietnamese menu and would be beter characterised as asian cuisine. That said, what they do they do very well. Typical to this neck of the woods, they go very light on the spice and, after countless visits, still don't make it hot enough for those of us who can handle it.

DESCRIPTION: Most of the noodle dishes are amazing! Also anything with beef in it! If you're really hungry, order some large shrimp fried rice. Busy atmosphere and good food at good prices. What more could you want?

Not so good for this vegetarian
DESCRIPTION: Everyone I know swears by Apsara, but to me it seems very greasy and everything tastes like fish sauce. I don't think all of their meatless dishes are really vegetarian, but if you like the faint taste of fish or meat on your vegetables go right ahead. The condensed milk in the thai iced tea tastes metallic. If you want something spicy you must ask. Pleasant staff and atmosphere, but better for the carnivorous. The Thai options are spiced quite differently than how Thai is usually (not a plus for me).

DESCRIPTION: I used to be a consistent customer of Apsara. I recently called at 9:15PM and was told I could sit and be served before 9:45PM. I arrived at exactly 9:35PM and they refusd to sit me. I spoke to the owner and manager...NOTHING. They don't appreciate their customers AT ALL. Stay away.

One of the two best Vietnamese Restaurants in the State!
DESCRIPTION: Pho Tuong Lai specializes in fresh, heart aromatic soups- Pho- the famous beef noodle soup, spicy noodle soup- featured on Friday nights and Saturdays and lastly, but not least- the chicken noodle soup- on Sundays! You have to come early on Sundays to get a bowl of the chicken noodle. Many of our customers go across the street to catch a movie at the Crown Theater. My mom (yes, the chef is my mom) also specializes in goi cuon (fresh spring rolls that you dip into fresh peanut sauce- a secret recipe of hers!), egg rolls, shrimp rolls and many other sauteed dishes- everything is made fresh to order! Even if you're a vegetarian- we have fresh veggies and tofu to satisfy your taste buds!

My favorite Asian
DESCRIPTION: The Viet House is a gem. Where can you get a wonderful Vietnamese dinner in lovely surroundings for way less than fifty dollars for two AND be greeted by name as if you were a high roller? I love this place. Their duck soup is to die for. The beef stock is made from scratch. The spring rolls are the best - bar none. These people would never serve a wilted bean sprout.

DESCRIPTION: We go to Pho 75 once a month or so to get the noodle soup. The best, consistently good quality soup at this particular establishment. Even though Pho 75 branches in different places like University Blvd in Md, Rt 50 in Arlington, Wilson Blvd, etc., soup at this place is most consistent.

Pho 75 is the palace of Pho!
DESCRIPTION: Pho 75 offers the fastest, biggest, best bargain meal in town. All they sell is Pho. The decor is extremely spare, the service is blazing fast, and the food is fresh, wholesome, fun, and filling. Note: The small size is more than enough for even the hungriest guy.

DESCRIPTION: I tend to agree earlier review - Herndon Pho 75 is probably the most consistent in terms of seasoning of the soup, quantity of meat and noodle. I go there about once a month or so as well.
