DESCRIPTION: There aren't many good local taps left in this part of the gentrifying Puget Sound, but the Longhorn is the authentic good stuff. Great local beers, decent bar food -- the oyster shooters are recommended -- and a friendly, decidedly unpretentious clientele make this a welcome diversion off the VanBell SeaTac I-5 corridor. Ask for Mayor Ted.

A Pretty Good Place
DESCRIPTION: Have had several meals here- all were pretty good- none were exceptional. Seafood has been disappointing on two occasions. Steaks are pretty good. Service is generally good and friendly. Atmosphere is LOUD and definitely not intimate or conducive to business like meetings. Watch out for the price of "call-it" drinks- had a couple of $7 vodkas.

DESCRIPTION: We've been to Beaches now several times and just had the bow tie pasta and the BBQ chicken pizza. Both were wonderful although the crust was a little too thin and could've used more BBQ sauce. It is typically noisy, but the view alone makes up for it on a beautiful day.

Great Place to Eat
DESCRIPTION: Beaches is such a cute restaurant! Sits right on the river and has such character. People are nice and friendly, food is always wonderful and drinks are yummy too. I love the sound of the seagulls as you are entering the building, it adds such charm. Reminds you of being at the beach. Nice place to hang out.

poor treatment of the disabled
DESCRIPTION: On December 31, 2005, I brought three friends with developmental disabilities to Beaches to celebrate New Year s Eve. We had been to Beaches on two previous New Year s Eves, and had really enjoyed the atmosphere as people counted down toward midnight. My friends and I had also enjoyed toasting New Year with the small complimentary glasses of champagne that was thoughtfully provided. My friends were excitedly looking forward to having a similar experience on this most recent New Year s Eve. Unfortunately, our experience this time was very different. As midnight approached, the servers began bringing champagne to other customers. Soon everyone in the area had champagne except for us. My friends asked me why no one brought us champagne. I said I didn t know, and both my friends and I tried to get the attention of your servers. It seemed that we were being deliberately ignored. Midnight came, and my friends and I watched, as those around us were able to raise their glasses toast the New Year. It was a humiliating experience for us. My friends recognize that they have disabilities and that some people look down on them for it, but they weren t expecting discriminatory treatment at Beaches. After midnight one of my friends finally was insistent enough that a server stopped and talked to him. My friend asked for champagne. A few minutes later, another employee came over and claimed that the champagne had run out. She also claimed that everyone else around us had pre-ordered and paid for their champagne, and that had been why we were ignored. She was apologetic, and said the coffee we had been served would be on the house. Given that Beaches had always in our experience served complimentary champagne New Year s Eve, I had trouble believing what this employee told us. On the way out, I asked a couple of customers if they had pre-ordered and paid for their champagne. They said that no, they had been brought their champagne, free of charge, without having ordered it. The employees at least managed to create the impression that you were engaging in the type of discrimination that is prohibited by the Americans with Disabilities Act. In the past 13 years I have accompanied people with developmental disabilities to restaurants hundreds of times. I have only had one other similar to this.

Happy Hour King
DESCRIPTION: Great Happy Hour menu with great prices on food and drinks. Same crew of people always working in bar. Very friendly and good food. The blonde girl with shorter hair is very nice to us and we always tip her good. Too bad the chain is in BK right now. They closed down the Factoria location which was closer to me. Renton is still close and me and my girlfriend go there all the time. Love it!

Great Early Bird Dinner
DESCRIPTION: The best deal in Western Washington. From 2:00p.m. to 5:30p.m the offer their dinner entrees plus a small desert for only $8.95. We had the best ribs ever plus an incredible stuffed potato and mixed veggies plus a peanut butter pie for only $8.95. Did I mention that they have 31 flavors of margaritas for only $2.95. You can't beat it. The service was wonderful.

A delightful, unexpected pleasure.
DESCRIPTION: The Oyster Creek Inn is wonderful. My husband and I love it. The food is some of the best in this area. The ambiance is quiet serene and the surroundings are beautiful. It is quite romantic. We recommend it to our family and friends and have yet to find anyone disappointed. The service is warm and friendly. The servers fit right into the atmosphere. If you find yourself in the neighborhood, this would be a memorable lunch or dinner.

Comfortable and elegant all at once!
DESCRIPTION: We have been eating at the Oyster Creek Inn for the past 4 years and have yet to find anything disappointing including the enchanting location. Though the tables are draped in fine linens and the cuisine is elegantly presented, the owner and staff make everyone feel welcome regardless of whether you are wearing your finest dress wear or your most casual summer attire. My high school-aged daugther insists on reservations for her group for every prom and they even accommodate the kids with separate checks and helping them factor the gratuity. The food is outstanding and the service is unforgettable. Worth the trip whatever your location.

A delightful experience.

A pleasant place to be
DESCRIPTION: The food here is good - better and a little more formal that you'd expect from a sports bar and grill. But my favorite thing about this place is that a large portion of the ceiling is glass, and so the dining room is filled with sunlight even on a cloudy day. A great thing for a Northwesterner who's feeling waterlogged.
